Would it be best just to simply kill child predators after they commit their crime? I have had a couple of Sex Offender classes (which are extremely disheartening), and in class they showed us some reports on sex offenders. Apparently they cannot be cured, as most studies seem to show. I know that some of these people have grown up hard and abusive lives, but we should not allow these people to pass this onto the youth of our nation.

John Couey is the current one that comes to mind, but there are many others, some still living in public.

(1) of course that's unconstitutional. The Court has ruled that only murder charges qualify for the death penalty, and then only when the jury considers aggrevating and mitigating factors and decides that "this particular" defendant is deserving -- across the board rules are unconstitutional.
(2) "Apparently they cannot be cured, as most studies seem to show." This is an overstatement. Child predators in general have higher rates of recidivism than other criminals, but not vastly higher. And some criminals may be truly incapable of living in society, that is not necessarily true for all sex criminals. One always tries to "lump" all sex criminals into one basket, but there are many different levels of sex criminal, even in relation to children. And as gross and inhuman has their actions are, exterminating people that we find less than desirable is just as inhuman.

We must separate the sexual predators from the other sex offenders. The tendency to put teenage sex in this category has caused a watered down list. We must be able to imprison for life any sexual predator. I think the judge and jury should be held responsible if the predator is ever let loose to prey on society again. They will carefully consider how to protect society from such predators if they are held personally responsible for there decision.

In addition the man that got his towel pulled off in the answers should be able to hold that judge and attorney responsible for the damage they did to his life.

I have been privy to both sides of this issue. Falsely accused young men and Innocent people damaged for life by predators. Accusers can use this to attack people and ruin there lives for ever. So the both possibilities must be considered hence the prosecutor and defense.

Anyone involved in falsely accusing should be severely penalized.

I know a man who served 3 consecutive terms of 15 yrs, for child molestation and rape of a 4 yr old boy and a couple of little girls (and countless others who didn't come forward), got out 3 days early due to good behavior and was picked up on the day he was scheduled to be out, he was "patroling" a park with rope and tape in his pocket. He even had the number of a young girl. He will never see the light of day outside those prison walls again. His family has all agreed not to help him, contact him, or even bury him when the time comes. His mother spent his whole life defending the way he is, but she has passed. I know from personal experience that he doesn't deserve to be out. Ever.

Yes. And honestly, I do not say that with hatred or anger. I just think it is in the best interest of both the offender and the offended (or potentially offended). It is a fact that they statistically cannot be cured of this serious illness. Furthermore, the damage done to a victim is immeasurable. I just think it would be for the best all around.

ONLY with DNA evidence. There are too many innocent people in jail, and too many real criminals roaming free. And I've actually known a couple of women who got mad at their boyfriends and claimed they molested their kids when it was a total lie. One guy had his whole life and career ruined, a 2-year thing dragged out in court, and by that time the kid had matured a little, realized what a b**ch her mom was, and told the truth about everything. So again I say, only with DNA.

Oh, and it really is true about what happens to real child molesters in jail. They end up getting what's coming to them anyway through prison justice.

wow, that's a little drastic. chemical castration maybe. I actually knew a guy that was convicted because his lawyer told him to plead no contest and the judge would probably only give him probation. He got 4 years in prison. All for walking out of his own bathroom and his daughters friend pulling off his towel. he didn't even know she was in his house. BS deal there. So if he would be put to death for that is ridiculous.

I f they are put in prison we provide all medical, dental, schooling, attorney fee,s, roof over there head and three meals a day. Now u tell me if that is Justice,. Our system sucks, They should all be hung by there balls. They need to suffer like all these children have. That is only my op-ion.

As a former prosecuted who worked on these heartbreaking cases, I can tell you these people never change. There is no rehabilitation for them.
Typically, when they are finally caught, they have already molested many, many other children. They will go on to molest more children when they get out of prison.
The death penalty is the only answer.
We must protect our children.

Well, if you look at the big picture, murder was already involved. They killed a child's confidence, they killed a child's future and they killed a child's childhood so yes. I say give those preditors the death penalty. Treat them like a murderer cause in a way, that's what they are. Oh and they killed a child's verginity.

I was abused as a child and deal with it everyday, but killing him isn't going to change anything! I absolutely agree that they cannot be "cured" but they should be identified and punished for their crimes. Killing them is not going the change the fact of what they did.
