no. Neither can you tell by how high or low your bump is, nor does dangling a ring on a string above the belly and seeing how it rotates or swings, neither does loads of other methods. In fact, someone I know was told they had a boy, because they saw his jewels in a scan, only to find out it must have been the umbilical cord, because when the baby was born, he was a She.
Mother and child did fine, even though everything was painted blue and all the clothes for her first 3 years were all 'boy' clothes.

There are many Old Wives' Tales that claim to be able to determine the sex of the baby. Some of them are based on baby's heart rate (fast or slow), how you carry the baby (low or high), what color a pregnant woman's urine turns when mixed with Drano (NOT recommended, very dangerous messing with the chemicals in Drano). You only have 2 choices when it comes to what your baby will be, so statistically these Old Wives' Tales will be right 50% of the time. But, there is no scientific proof that any of them are accurate 100% of the time.

heartbeat doesn't matter my boys were fast my girls were a steady beat and i had 3 boys and 2 girls. the ultrasound depending on the technician and technology can tell you but it can be wrong. people just don't understand this newer technology is not meant to be 100% accurate!

The old wives tale was true for my pregnancies. All my boys had slower heartbeats.........and the girls had faster ones. I have 3 boys and 2 girls.

With experts like herbalists, they can determine sex thru pulse rate. faster for girls, slower for boys.
Just do ultrasounds by 3rd months - up and see the baby organ itself for clarity.
