The poor death watch beetle is completely misunderstood. In its larvae state it takes 11 years to eat it's way through a beam to the outside world, then as a beetle it has to hope that a beetle of the opposite sex emerges at the same time. it taps away to attract attention to itself and if it ever does get together with a mate the female then has to find a completely untreated, unpainted , unvarnished piece of wood to lay her eggs in..... Well I've killed a couple of minutes relating this riveting information, so if you need to kill any more time email me and I'll tell you more about my battles with the beetle.... I do need to get out more!

Pushes sh*t up hill - oohh no thats the dung beetle sorry - does he listen to Mull of Kintyre - thats by a beetle and I nearly died of boredom listening to it.
