Ok, I posted like a week and a half ago because I had a really abnormal (for me) period. It was light (steady flow, not spotting) and it was off and on. Days 21-23 of my usually 30 day cycle I was lightly spotting (only visable when I wiped, pinkish/brownish), and my breasts have been so sore for weeks now! I took a hpt a week ago that was negative, one today that was invalid, and I'm due to start my period on the 21st. Either my body is doing something funky because of stress, or could I be pregnant? (Yes, I have had unprotected sex, or I wouldn't ask) I didn't have "implantation bleeding" with my daughter, or my 2 losses after her (last loss was 4 years ago). Could that be what the 3 day spotting was? I'm actually hoping I'm pregnant, because if not, I'm afraid there could be something terribly wrong.. any suggestions/advice?

(P.S. - I'm sorry if I'm annoying anyone by asking this question, but I recently moved to an entire new state and don't have many female friends to talk to here, so I chose to reach out to the women of the Yahoo Answers community. I'm not expecting anyone to diagnose me, and if I had health insurance I'd go to the doctor asap. I'm not trying to sound like a witch, but I'm not getting such a positive response right now...

The 3 days of spotting does sound like a possible implantation bleed. I have had 3 children and only one implantation bleed. Each pregnancy (like each baby) is different.

Just to let you know - a negative result from a HPT is only 50% accurate, where a positive is 99%. Some women cannot get a positive from an HPT until they are 5 months pregnant. This is NOT the norm.

Since you are taking a test before you are late, the results are suspect. If you are pregnant (which sounds possible) it is very early on and your HCG is still low. You could wait another day or two and try a more sensitive HPT, like first response, or wait (and I KNOW how hard that is to do) for another week to a week and a half and take another regular HPT.

I hope you get a positive soon. Good luck!

Go to a clinic or your doctor. Their tests are more accurate.
While it is possible you could be pregnant. It is also possible you could be causing the reactions with your mind and stress. Our bodies are weird things. I once had a period that was all brown blood and lasted about 2 weeks. I freaked out and rushed to the Dr. I was told it was just my body getting rid of old blood. I've never heard of such a thing. Another example, I have a friend who had normal pregnancies and no sickness or anything, but at a routine checkup found out she was 5 mo pregnant.
So, don't stress or worry about, because you will make yourself sick...as the saying goes.
Go to your doctor or a clinic. Any knowledge is better than no knowledge.

I have not experienced implantation bleeding, however it is apparently a real thing. The reason a prengancy test might be showing negative is that you are not really late yet. While some tests can detect the horomone a few days early, it is not recommended that you relly on them until you are actually late. I would wait until the 21st (or within a day or 2) and retest. If you are pregnant, the test should reflect this. Remember, even the faintest 2nd line means positive.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)
Good luck!

I posted a question similar to yours, I had taken numerous pregnancy test and all came back neg.I went 4 months without a period.I wanted so badly to be pregnant again that I cause my period to be so delayed. There is a possibility that you are pregnant but theres also a possibility your not.Your best bet is to go to your physician a get a blood test.It will help ease your mind to know either way.I truly hope you get the results your hoping for.I wish you luck.

If you don't get your period by the 21st, take another test. If that is negative, you are not pregnant

Take another home test and if it comes up negative, go to the Dr... their tests are much more sensitive. Best of luck!!!

I get confused by these questions - can't you just get a blood test?
