Yes, Google Adwords allows you to place ads on the Google search results page and/or on any page that has "Ads by Google" on them. You bid money on keywords that you want to target. If your bid is accepted, your ad is shown when someone searches for that term and/or if there's a site that the term is relevant for.
In terms of making money, that's on you. Google has nothing to do with it. All Google Adwords does is allow you to place ads for your website to certain words.
You have to have a good website to make money off of memberships or ads.

With Google Adwords you would have to spend money to bring in traffic...
If u can happen to monetize that traffic then u can make a lot of money...

Isn't that the point of advertising...to make money? You pay to have your advertisement shown on Google and in turn, people click on the link and come to your site and possibly purchase your products.
