Does this feet first argument hold water? I walk feet first but I'm not going backwards.

The reason it is called Backstroke is because you are lying on your back when you are doing it. Your head is leading the way and the body follows. You are still swimming forward, just doing it on your back.

Yes backstroke means ur on ur back ur still going forward u just cant see where u are going its not like ur goin feet first

I would say yes, to swim backwards you would have to go feet first .

Yes you are swimming forward but you are swimming on your back and moving yours arms backwards but going forward!

yea even though it is on your back since you are on your bakc you are going forwards backwards your going in the way your head is pointing which is forward.
