I'm getting a PS3 in a week and for the first month at least, I'll be financially hard-pressed to buy more than a couple of games.
Since it seems a bit restricting to buy two first-person shooters, can anyone that's played both 'Call of Duty 3' and 'Resistance' help tell me which is the better game?
Also, any recommendations for other PS3 games?

I have both games for the PS3 and "Resistance: Fall of Man" is a much better game both online and off.
Call of Duty 3 seems to get very repetitive in the later levels due to the limited choice of enemies, maps, and weapons. Resistance, however, has good variety in maps and even more weapons are unlocked after you complete the first run-through. Call of Duty only supports single player mode (unless you are online) while Resistance supports multi-player mode. The graphics on Resistance seem far superior, even though both games support 720i.
The online experience with Resistance is where this game really shines. Users can create custom games, join clans, and build up their character through the completion of milestones.
The only other game that I would recommend right now is Motorstorm (just out). I am not a huge racing game fan, but the choices of vehicles, maps and customizations make this a very exciting game. I haven't had a chance to play too much online yet, but it seems like it would be a great experience.

Call of Duty 3 for the PS3 is really cool, I like the hand to hand combat. Resistance is really frustrating but great looking. You can download the demo for Resistance for free from the PS3 store(it's saves to your hard drive, I have quite a few demos)

I know call of duty 3 is really good on xbox but im not sure on PS3. I have resistance and I love it. Great story and its really fun to play the story mode yourself or with a friend.

Thats all opinion right there, it really depends on if your looking for a game with old technology and levels, or if you wanna be in the future killing things...i honestly love resistance fall of man, because well. you get awesome weapons. anyways its up to you to decide

both VERY GOOD thats a hard queation but i have to stick it up with resistance because the alien-ish creatures in the game are pretty cool
