Check your driver, if you have updated it, it might be a bad file, so try to roll it back or uninstall and install the original!.

If that fails, check the hardware configuration or take it into a shop for them to check!

Check to make sure you have not inadvertently turned the knot on the right side at the back of your laptop towards yourself (easily happened if you put in or took out your flooppy disk at sometime recently). If it's not that, click the Volume icon (looks like a loudspeaker) shown in the toolbar at the bottom front of the computer, you will be given ways to adjust it adequately.

Can you give us some more information?

Like ... oh I don't know ... what OS are you running?
Did you ever have sound? What happened to make it go away?
