i have xp, a desktop and laptop connecting through the same wireless router

You just need to create an "ad-hoc" wireless network between the 2 computers.

There is basically only one option for doing this and the image won't be the best of quality but this is the only way it can be done. Make an account at Logmein.com. Add the computer you want to connect to and leave it on. Sign on the Logmein.com account you are going to connect from and open the computer you added.
