It has to do with being the voice of opposition, I guess. Since having a religious belief of some kind is the standard, an atheist can move against the stream & stir up the pot a bit. Sometimes as a means to make people think rather than blindly follow one value set or another or to just be mischeivous. I would suppose that anyone who would answer a question about religion who is not religious may also be searching for answers of his/her own.

It would be nice to believe in an almighty God. So when things go wrong I could say "it's God's will"
But being an atheist I have to search for a reason why things went wrong and in doing so often find the answer.
I respect every ones right to their own religion,
Perhaps you as a religious person should do the same.
I will tell you a little story.
When I went to have my daughter christened. (In-law pressure) I had to go and see the vicar.
and openly told him I was an atheist.
I explained that in my opinion many Christians were Hypocrites and went on to give him an example.
I said if I am walking down the street and I see a worm on the pavement... He chipped in and said "You step over it"... I said no and what you just said explains my point. I pick it up and put it on the nearest grass.
My wife nodded in agreement and said "He does"
Needless to say he refused to Christen my daughter.
In doing so he simply re-enforced my belief in atheism

on the topic of transportation to and from the church, i'd advise one in all 2 issues: a million.) communicate with a buddy from the church once you've already made some associates there. they could be waiting to grant you a strengthen. Or 2.) contact the church and see in the journey that they both have a bus or someone who transports people. lots of the church homes i have considered have a minimum of one van and/or bus. The definition of dressing modestly fairly relies upon on the church you're going to, because the Bible wasn't fairly all that sparkling on the placement. pretty swimming wear. once again, i'd contact the church if I were you. As for sins, the placement is as risky as chugging nitro-glycerin. My view on it really is that we sin. era. the in person-friendly words those who're exempt from this actuality are little ones and those who're unable to appreciate (i.e. those with psychological developmental disabilities). Jesus forgives our sins. yet it truly is no longer a free fee ticket to sin at will. attempt your magnificent to repent. it truly is all accessible fairly do. God bless you and strong success!

I am interested in all forms of mythology, past and present. Why should I exclude christianity from all the other myths out there?
Heck, it's even more fascinating as you can talk to people that actually believe it.
As Mr Spock would say... "Fascinating..."

That's hilarious, I think most people like to share their thoughts on especially controversial issues, answers where there really is no right answer.

I am an atheist - I sometimes get involved with these discussions because it's interesting to see what people believe and why they believe it.

Because us atheists are entitled to an opinion too, you know! Just because I don't believe in it, it doesn't mean to say that the subject holds no interest for me.
