Such a friend is not worth having in the first place. A true friend should comprehend and empathise with you, not lambast you for an honest mistake.

I think you should try to salvage your friendship, if its worth it to you. Maybe she had a lot of other things on her mind or maybe she was stressed out. If she is your friend-really your true friend, she will be sorry that she said anything so harsh to you. You should try to talk to her and if she won't talk to you, ignores you, or is still horribly mean after a couple weeks you should move on and make a couple new friends. If you ask me, if she doesnt come back to you she is a foolish friend to have around any way. You'd be better off with a couple new friends. Good luck! I hope she comes back to you.

I agree, sounds like she's a very self-centred person. A true friend would be disappointed but would at least sulk a little instead of giving you a serve.
Were you supposed to be a godparent at the christening? If not, don't worry about it. 2 years isn't that long as far as friendships go, and if she's going to be like that she's not worth a single second more of your friendship time. You can do better, true friends don't treat their mates like that.

I'm sure she was just hurt because you had forgotten, however, a good friend would realize it wasn't intentional and that things happen. In order to have a good friendship, one has to be able to take the good with the bad..or it's not a friendship. If you've explained the situation and she still reacts by wanting you to leave her alone..do as she requests.

i don't think that i would take it so far as to call off the friendship if i were her but that's just me. i think that you might try calling her and leaving a message on her phone telling her how truly sorry you are and that missing it was an honest mistake and that you would like to make it up to her. no guarantees that it will work but it is something to try.

If this is your true friend, get a hold of her, and sincerely apoligize for missing her baby's special day.
If she's a true friend, she will accept it.
But, also, try to see her side, even if she did tell you to "$%# off."

She isn't a real friend in the first place, if she told you that. Don't waste your time and emotions on such persons.
