I don't know what you mean by "the Iraqi war of choice", but the war in Iraq doesn't affect you taxes. It only affects the distribution of spending and/or the total national debt.
The Democrats running Congress will raise your taxes, or at least try their very best, and the long term affect would be that total tax revenue will decrease.
Conservative Republicans (to the extend that there are any) would lower you taxes and the long term affect would be that total tax revenue will increase.

Whenever Democrats are in power it is a safe bet that your taxes are going up.
That is the War of Choice that the Dems have been waging against the American people for decades.
