People THINK they do know the answer, or just feel like helping someone.
Anyway, often people ask rhetorical questions and just want an answer they already know reaffirmed - or they are uncertain and want reassurance about a decision.
If you're talking about on here when people answer questions with like 2 word answers with no relevance to the question then I don't know...they are bored and want points or something???

*Scratches head* I don't know! LOL XD
You're asking a question that has no specific answer. :P It differs from people to people - we're not clones lol. (Thank God! Haha)
It could be for fun, it could be for the points, it could be support, it could be uplifting, it could be to annoy, it could be to criticize, it could be to show off... and the list continues. Hehe.
YOU probably already know the answer that you would agree to the most in mind before you even asked, or want the attention, or want to figure out how many annoying people there are on here, yada yada yada.
Got it? Yeah? Okay. Okay now. Okay? okay. Okie. :)

I guess some people feel like they are contributing to something if they answer it..others might want just game points . Or they might be afraid to answer with getting a violation. Its hard to tell.

This is because it might make the questioner feel better to know that other people also don't know the answer.

it's not the winning it is the taking part that counts. Also, in answering any old question people are made to feel worth in their lives. it makes them feel useful, a bit like voting for the green party. they are never going to win but people still vote for them rather than not at all...

Why ask questions when your mind is closed to the answers and you don't value other peoples' opinions?

So you can more easily find the question again and find out (possibly) an answer to the question.
