How do you determine that a turtle is overweight anything that is overweight will have some sort of problem turtles are piggies and will eat all day if possible, try cutting there food intake down a little, Do they have enough room to get plenty of exercise? I've been breeding turtles for 15 years and never had that problem. Need more info, if you are that concerned about them take them to the vets for a check up.

Yes, it IS bad if they are overweight.

As their keeper, it is your job to feed them right, which also means the right amounts.

The typical serving for a turtle is a daily serving the size of their head- which seems small, but they have small stomachs and slow metabolisms. Any more than this and it turns to fat.
