Never tolerate it from the start . If you do , it will continue to go on forever . If it has already for you then I am sorry because I am trying to distance myself from the one in my life , for years ! It never ends , unless you stop it , or them from entering your life .

if the person is really lying then ask any question in which u think that the person would lie and then repeat the same question after few months but for that u need to remember tha answer and ask that question in which the persorn says that he or she would never forget and when u'll, ask that qies after few months then the answer would be different and u could point out that ur ans few months befor was something oter and now something else specify the answer given the person few months before

Take everything they say with a grain of salt.
A lot of times lying is a sign of a person being really insecure with themselves. Maybe they lie because they feel like their true self is boring or embarassing and that you won't like them if they don't have some sort of exciting stories to tell.
If the lying is being done to trick you or hurt you, then ditch this person.

When you know it's a pure lie coming out of their mouth, excuse yourself from the conversation and go talk to someone else. After a while, the person will get the hint (hopefully)

Call them on it. Tell them you do not like people who lie and you do not associate yourself with those types of people. If you can't trust someone and you don't know if they are telling the truth or not they don't deserve to be part of your life.

that depends on how bold you are. i always tell a person that is outright lying that they are lying. or i say.......yeh, whatever, thats a lie. but i suppose the proper way to handle it is to distance yourself from them. if you cant and they lie, just hold your mouth open like youre in shock that they said that and just say nothing. their expression is sooooo worth it.

Well, first never take them at their word. Second, feel very sorry for them, for they must be seriously insecure if they need to lie.

Tell them you know the real truth. And in the future, be cautious with whatever they do say.

be sober and realistic with them...to forgive - if you want to keep friendship; to hold away from - if not..
I have a friend whom i know since when i was 6.. he sometimes lies..once he cheated me for money...but...he's my friend.. he also has his merits.. i'm realistic about him - in general nobody is perfect entirely (including myself)..))) - i decide to keep our friendship and i do so..)))
