How do I get dvd clips onto Windows movie maker?

I'm helping a friend to make a music video on WMM using clips from various dvds, but windows movie maker won't accept it and now I'm stuck.
I'd just like to take a few clips from dvd.
Any ideas on how I can do this??

You'll need to convert them to WMV first and then import them into WMM.

Just search for: "convert 'xxx' to WMV" on Yahoo and you'll find a convertor (with xxx being the current format)
