I think he used to be funny in about 1983, but since then he has been about as funny as a dose of the clap.
If it wasn't for comic relief would he EVER appear on TV ?

I never found him funny in the eighties and nor do I find him funny now! Yes I reckon he would be unknown if it wasn't for Comic Relief!!

I find his charicature sketches side-splittingly funny; I love the Afro-Caribbean shopkeeper, and the 'It's because I'm black!?' guy.

I went to see him live a couple of times (the 'So Much Things to Say' tour), and he's better in person.

Too much of a good thing though, can still be a bit wearing.

Was he really better in the 80's or have we just got used to his sense of humour...?

And don't forget that Comic Relief isn't just an excuse to wear a silly red nose or act daft for a day, it's going a long way to help AIDS orphans in Africa, and they really need our help. Lenny Henry, whatever you think of his humour, is an amazing, very driven, very caring guy and I for one hope that his and his colleagues' humour raises heaps for those poor African kids who've retained their humour and love of life even when they have so little left to hope for.

No, not at all funny - you're right, if it wasn't for Comic Relief we'd never see him.

He's a nice bloke (I met him at a party once) and you've got to respect the work he does for charity. But funny? No, I'm afraid not for me

Well, no, he wouldn't be on TV if it wasn't for comic relief. And speaking of comic relief, I saw him and Dawn French in a Fiat Punto on the M6 last year. Damn! was that car riding low on the suspension.

By the way, a dose of the clap is funnier, when it happens to a mate and they don't remember sleeping with anyone!

Yeah.
Mid to late 80's he was OK, but I don't find him funny anymore.
I dread watching Comic Relief tonight, for him and Russell Brand.

Where's your sense of humour? Obviously down the drain. Come on, start smiling. Be happy. Lenny Henry is the tops, he's a natural. He's great! I love him!

I have always thought he was funny since I saw him on Opportunity Knocks when I was a child. He was the only bright thing in The Fosters and how can you not like Chef?

yeah I used to think he was funny when I was like 10 but now he I think he is a bit of a racist and makes such a big issue about the fact that he is black! were all supposed to get on as one nation so why does every joke he cracks have to be related to the colour of his skin?
his wife is funnier I love vicar of dibley
