The injuries incurred while playing a season of NHL 07, or any sporting game, are mostly random. It would be very difficult and problematic to have completely realistic injuries like what you have described.

This "bug" is nothing compared to the old days of the EA Sports NHL franchise when you totally juked the goalie and the puck would disappear from mid air as it was on its way into the net. It would look as though it hit a glass shield.

So, he got in the eye by the puck? Video games aren't THAT realistic. I recommend getting an X Box 360 and their version if you don't. I do, and it's amazing and very realistic looking. Normal slap shots actually score sometimes.
