First off it would be good to know what level of school your currently in. It would also be good to know how much cash and time your willing to put into this project.
to name a few
*Farnsworth fusor
*electrolyses using pulsed dc and showing what frequency
is the best and why. Pure water or salted.
*Tesla coil
*cold fusion device
(and no they don't have to work just show idea or theory of how they could work)

you can make an alarm activated by a movility sensor. and you could use it for example: if you don't want anybody to go in your room while you're not home, you can put it secretly next to the door (inside) and when you little brother tries to go in, the alarm will sound and freak him out! LOL.
