Actually this is very difficult to determine because the human genetic code was bottlenecked when a theoretical major catastrophic event happened about 70 to 75 thousand years ago. It's easy enough to trace back evolutionary chains but specific DNA is much harder to decipher because so many events like this have happened in the past and wiped out a majority of the evidence. For more on bottlenecks, read this:

There is a small chance of life on Mars, just not complex beings. All that "life" requires is sunlight and water. There are signs that there are small amounts of ice inside craters at the north and south poles of Mars. They may contain micro organisms such as bacteria and so on.
As for whether we originated from Mars - some scientists believe that ice from comets/asteroids (not sure which one), are seeds of creating life on planets. It may be possible that organisms on Mars may have spread to Earth first via comet.
As for Martian beings coming from spaceships to colonise Earth, you're better off reading a science fiction book.

We don't even know all the life forms on our own Mother Earth! As yet...and we never will !
But, surely, the huge and precise Universe, is NOT meant to be a "barren waste," merely for humans to use a tiny portion of it. Our Earth, seen on the Cosmic Scale, is an insignificant speck of cosmic dust !
Human perceptions, are very limited, indeed ! There is a high possibility of other life forms existing, anywhere & everywhere, but we humans do NOT realize it, since these life forms are beyond human sensory and mental perceptions, both in the microcosm and in the macrocosm.
Maybe, some of them, are sitting right next to us, controlling even OUR THOUGHT PROCESSES (like your question and my answer ! Without even any one of us humans in the world, knowing about such phenomenon.

Life on Earth may or may not have originated on Mars, but it was billions of years ago, not millions. A few million years ago there were already proto-humans making a living as hunter-gatherers on the plains of Africa.

At one point, I think there could have been some kind of life, but nothing beyond the level of primitive plant life and bacteria before the ecosystem collapsed.

It's highly unlikely since we can trace parts of the DNA we have today all the way back to the dinosaurs and early mammals.
