at what age do they see clearly or do they see well at birth?

My mother works in eyes and it has been proven that newborn babies only see outlines for the first month or so... they can hear your voice and see your shape however they do not start seeing in color for months. They have black and white vision. Having known this I got my son a black and white mobile for his crib when he was a baby and they get much more stimulation out of it because the colors are not shaded, they are black and white which is exactly what they can see. Ask your pediatrician but I am pretty sure colors start coming into play at about 6+ months.

they cant see at birth but they can smell the difference between mom and dad about 4 months they cans see a little up close 6 months they can see alot

At birth, they can only see approx. a foot away from them and they can only see black and white. At or around 8 months, a baby's sight is developed to the ability of an adult's.

Newborns can see from his face to yours whenever you are holding him, but its blury and black and white, you should try to join parents as teachers in your area its a great program and you learn ALOT about your baby you wont otherwise!

Babies don't see well at all at birth... the images they see are very fuzzy. That's why they like simple patterns, such as checkboard, and they see black and white contrast the best. I bought my daughter a mobile of black and white clowns with checkboard clothes and red hair... she LOVED it!

babies aren't supposed to be opening their eyes properly until their about 4 months old. so what new borns are seeing is just blurs, like you see when you only open your eyes a bit.
by 4 months they can define faces and recognise objects.

My Dr told me that new borns only see black and white.then around 6 months they begin to see colors, good luck
