if you feel like its intruding in your space then yes. and if they're filming infants, children not over 16, without your permission then they could actually get arrested and charged with peodophilia (apologies for the spelling). it happened in a carnival i was in. photographers were called over by the police when they took photos that had kids in the background. they got off with a warning but the stuff was confiscated.

I would call the police (not on the emergency line) and talk with them about it. It is an invasion of your privacy but would be best if you could prove it-get your pastor or a friend who is a lawyer or at least another person to observe it. Take the person who observed this behavior and have them write down what they saw and sign it-you could even have it notarized (signed in front of notary at bank), for more evidence. The more proof you have without using a camera back at them (thus doing it yourself) the better. After you have someone else observe it then close the curtains or move furniture in front of the window they have access to-so they waste their film! Always lock up and keep all windows closed and locked who knows what kind of weirdos they might be.

You have not specified enough information for a valid answer.

For example: What state you are in. State statutes vary.

And: How he is using the video camera. Is it a fixed camera for surveillance of his property that happens to include areas exposing your family, or is he holding it and purposely filming your family?

Also, has he had issues with your children before which would lead him to think he could gain evidence of some illegal activity by filming them. For example, does he suspect your children may be involved in vandalism of his property.

You best option would be to consult a local attorney. He can tell you the laws of the state, and ask pertinent questions to determine your proper course of action.

It's perverted or psychotic... or both.

Call your police. Start to document everything, including by time, date, who was involved, any witnesses. Keep a calendar or diary, etc. Send him a letter by certified mail and by regular mail telling him that he does NOT have your permission to film your family and/or your children and then threaten legal action. This may just force him to do it without being so obvious though...but at least you have proof that you told him that he didn't have your permission.

Contact your own attorney. A consultation fee should be less than $100 and maybe even less than $50.00. The attorney should explain your options and how to protect yourself and your children. Your Police can explain your rights too.

GOOD LUCK...

i had the same problem, the council said there is nothing they could do and so did the police, but if it is cctv your neighbour has he must have a sign up plus his camera must not go out his garden boundery line,i found it very distressing as your not allowed to take photos of any other kid at school plus your own,the law on this is a joke either that or the police are not interested.

Privacy laws vary from state to state, so you won't get the answer you seek in this forum. Most of the people here are not attorneys and you did not specify where you are from.

i think you should report this to your local authorities. this man could be a child predator or a murderer. he may be just twisted. whatever his problem is, its not normal and its causing you discomfort and your safety and the safety of your children could be at risk. call the cops on him. hopefully they will get a warrant and search his home for these things and find that he is a registered sex offender or something and get kicked out by the landlord. dont wait. go ahead and call before its too late and he is waiting for you and the children when you come home one night.

smthin' wrong with him...especially if u have ask 'im not to do it and he continue it in a stealthy way...
of course u can call cops to warn him... but ...juridically nobody could forbid him to do with his camera within the territory of his property all what he wants...
if he enter your territory or peeps at your windows to make shot - you can drug 'im to the court for your property and private life rights violation...
mount the high fence - it's the best way..))..
