That cannot be answered, only speculated upon. I believe that humans will undergo a mass extinction within the next 2 million years which in the scope of things is relatively soon. Humans have only been here for some 200,000 years, dinosaurs underwent a few mass extinctions, but the Cretaceous extinction did them in, mammals radiated and evolved and took over the land. That is not to say that some humans won't survive, in fact I believe they will, however it is at this juncture when the population is small and the genetic variation is low that evolution occurs rapidly. Perhaps we will evolve into something else, but most likely the few remaining humans will go extinct over the following generations. This could be dead on or completely full of tihs. But this is what I think will happen.

Human kind will go extinct if we nuke ourselves into oblivion, or if a gigantic asteroid hits the Earth and wipes out all life, or we develop some really nasty virus that kills everyone, or we do absolutely nothing about getting off this planet and the Sun finally gets hot enough to sterilize the Earth.

There is a small little chance that we just might survive long enough to use our brains and develop space habitats, push out into the solar system, and eventually colonize the systems around other stars. In that case the desendents of humans might survive until the death of all the stars some 500 billion years from now.

Hard to say when. But, whenever it is, it will most likely be something we have done to ourselves or to the earth to make it inhabitable by humans.
