Sure, he hasn't screwed things up as badly as George Tenet, but doesn't he still deserve a medal?

Perhaps its time for a new medal of dishonor for this bunch, THE AMERICAN MEDAL OF OBFUSCATION OF THE CONSTITUTION AND RIBBON OF INCOMPETENCE.
I think given Bush's inability to appoint anyone worthy this would save the country from being embarrassed by owning a medal whose value has been debased by the men and women Bush has chosen to honor.
All the medalists could be honored in New Orleans, on top of the pumps that don't work, but were bought anyway because a Bush friend built them. They would be presented by Heckuva Job Brownie.
That would work.
Are you all aware that Bush fired his own men? And when a new party takes power in Washington it is common to change appointees? Clinton did nothing wrong, an neither would Bush have except that in all of the history of this country only five federal prosecutors have been fired for any other reason than party change. And the fact that an end run was done around Congress with the intention of putting in not just the Presidents men, again that would have been the usual practice, but men recommended only by their blind loyalty and not their ability. Ownership of the judiciary isn't a good thing and if Bush isn't sure his choices could be approved by a closely held Congress, well, doesn't that worry you at all?
For this ability to appoint purely political prosecutors, without congressional input you can thank the Patriot Act, something no former President had, but King George does.

Gonzales is a good man. The democrats are trying their best to tar and feather him in the media and the media is gleefully helping. The truth here is that there is nothing illegal about these firings... only Reid and Schumer even elude to the possibility. Every other democrat says no illegality took place.

The problem is that Bush does not seem willing to get out in front of this issue. He should call a press conference and blast the dems for their political 'grandstanding' and stop this "new tone" bullcrap! By the way, the Prez should stop making nice with Fancy Nancy and realize she is his friggen enemy!

Just my opinion as one frustrated Republican!

I think you mean he HAS medal kind of like when Clinton sent in his hatchett (Reno) and fired all 93 U.S. attorneys to cover up the firing of the one in Little Rock?
