Casual Fridays were implemented (not by all companies though) to empower employees with a sense of freedom for that one day in the week. The dress code would differ from one company to another, and it should also look casual yet smart in order to project a professional image, if the company were one that deals with major corporations and clients. Of course, that sense of empowerment bestowed upon you has to have its restrictions - in accordance with the company's directives, image and message. Life's such, so I guess we'll all just have to deal with it. After all, it's not like we can't wear jeans on our days off ;)

this is for morale. an afternoon to be greater comfortable because of the fact this is the final day of the artwork week. i've got under no circumstances had a controversy with it, this is basically continuously been the coverage of the corporation's i've got worked for. the dep.'s the place persons are viewed much less dress informal maximum days, whilst people on the leading side dress expert common different than Friday. and of direction, there is often an exception to the rule of thumb, if somebody important is coming in on friday, use trouble-unfastened experience and get dressed greater expert. i think of it fairly is somewhat ridiculous to ask your corporation for an hour of unfastened pay over an outstanding gesture, at the same time with dressing greater informal sometime. back interior the day you won't are transforming into an option of the two one....

LOL... omg - i like so agree with you hey... we arent allowed to wear any denims, cordurouy, sleeveless items or any other 'casual' outfit they may deem tooo funky... sheesh.. so really for some of us that dont wear uniforms u usually just end up wearing your normal monday to friday items..
now what i usually then do is carry some jeans or something so that i change at 4:30 - coz i usually just go straight to a movie then grab a snack before we go out clubbing... ah yah..

We have casual day every day. I work in finance and we don't deal with customers face to face so we are allowed to wear jeans (nice ones) every day if we want.
I never understood the casual friday, but not jeans, rule. Is it casual or not?
good luck!

I propose we start a casual Friday on Yahoo Answers P&S where you can answer questions in jeans. Anybody see a reason why we can't do that?
Majority rules on this one, right?

Good point. I guess at some places "casual Friday" just means no ties for the guys and no "work suits" for the girls.

An excellent question. Better check the dress code for a definition of "casual", huh?

My company uses jeans day as a carrot. If we make budget for the quarter, we get a jeans day. That stinks!
