I'm not religious - what I mean is, would you abuse your power?

What a terrifying thought. People are scary enough to listen to when they open their mouths, let alone know what is really going on inside their heads that they DON'T say.
Would I want to read the mind of God? No, I have enough problems and challenges without dealing with an entire world's worth.

Sure.... I would try.... just to disprove god's existence.

Unlike the average athiest I'm not so full of my own pre-set ideas that I am unwilling to test things when the oppurtunity arises that have hitherto been dismissed due to their failing all other tests so far.

That is to say .... if I had telepathy with theoretically unlimited range.... I would look for the mind of a god.... and if I didn't find one then I would be all the more certain that there wasn't a god. If I didn't even try then how could I claim with confidence that I was certain there wasn't one?

Of course after I had done that, I would search the Universe for extraterrestrial thoughts. =P

And after I logged all information thus gained and spread it across the Internet..... I would proceed to abuse my powers to make myself insanely rich. Take that as you will.

Assuming there is a god, I don't think you could read his mind if you wanted to. We're talking about the almighty himself, the being that created humans in his own image. I'm sure he's a little more mentally stable to let a human try to read his mind - assuming he even has a biological brain.

But then again I don't believe in god, so I guess it's all speculative. Some people can feel god, so I can imagine a lot can read his mind too.

I don't think Gods mind is that easily read - different zone I think. I would read the minds of the politicans, I have no idea what (if anything) is happening in there and it'd be nice to know!
I would hate to be telepathic though, what if people were thinking nasty thoughts about you, what if the next time I ask 'does my bum look big in this' I might be reading a little 'yes' from my boyfriends mind!

I probably would abuse my power, not by trying to read the mind of God though, just people.

reading something, some one that is beyond our small mind/brain is futile effort. as some say, god doesnt exist. its because we see the problems of the world and we blame it on god. we forgot that all these are not god-send but man-made. even those created by religions it is man's rulings and not god's. so the poor fella gets blame for everything. take an example of a creator and the created. can the created understand / comprehend the creator? take an engine...created by man. man understand it can the motor comprehend its creator. its beyond its capacity. this may/ may not be a good example but think of the analogy.....

No. I don't think I would. Theoretically, God is the big huge super-nova of power.

To read his mind, would fry your brain.

We only use about 10% of our brains.

So, even if we do evolve more throughout time, our brains & body will change.

100% Brain power would fry our bodies.

So, yea.

yes. if there was a god. presumably, if i was telepathic then i don't think i'd tell anyone, and i think that if i was and there was a god and he/she/it/they would know and would have bestowed upon me the gift/curse and would've already thought about preventative measures.... if by abuse you mean taking over the world then yes.
why yes indeed......
but i'd be empathic too, so don't worry.
