I'm a 22 year old woman and I want to lose about 10 kilos. If I swim daily and eat well, will I be able to lose weight? Is swimming considered cardio? I also want to tone up but I don't want to bulk up and get all muscley. I am planning on swimming daily as well as a few aerobics sessions a week, will these exercises make me lose weight? P.s I will be eating a healthy low-calorie diet also.

Good Question. I've asked the same thing. This is what I learned:
1. You might lose some weight
2. You have to swim about 1 hour straight, giving it, to make it
aerobic/cardio.
3. Its awesome for toning,(really there is little even not weight lifting that if done right will bulk you up and make you look like he-man)
4. It sounds to me like a good plan to eat well, but don't worry so much about low-calorie, concentrate on high quality, ie. veggies, whole grains and lean meats, fish etc.
5. I remember being told something about swimming and its obvious benefits for low-resistance and toning, BUT some how I remember something about it not being the optimal
sport to "lose weight", something about water keeping your core temperature down. I only remember this because
I remember someone saying "hey just take a look at whales".
Silly but somehow a note of truth to it.
Maybe the aerobics or walking should be every day and the swimming a few days a week. Just an idea.
Hope this helps, good luck.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

YES swimming is considered cadio, its a great form of excercise. not only can it help you lose weight and tone up, its also fun and a refreshing alternative to running or spending time at the gym,. good luck! don't go too nuts with the dieting, just try to choose healthier options, if you're going to be excercising your body will need carbs and fats to keep it going.
