Friendshipis a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behaviour between two or more humans. This article focuses on the notion specific to interpersonal relationships. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them. Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating on a consistent basis:
the tendency to desire what is best for the other.
sympathy and empathy.
honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth.
mutual understanding.

I'm not an expert on making friends but there are some things that I do know and I want to share with you. Smile a lot cause if you don't, and you have one of those unfortunate faces where you always look fierce, people will get intimidated and that will scare them off. Always be yourself cause I realise that my best friends are the ones that I behave like myself around. And once you have a friend, when someone else tries to steal them away, hang onto them but not too tightly cause if you are like a doormat like me than your friend will think that you don't mind him/her to run off with someone else. Er... this may sound weird too but just take my advice.

I would suggest "doing" things with others. Guys tend to bond well doing an activity. So join a club, sport, or group that provides an outlet to not only meet others socially, but also expand your hobbies and interests!
