This happens no matter if it's light wind or high winds. It's happened even if its just hard rain and mild winds. Any ideas on what could be causing this.

OK, never use ur DSL during thunderstorms coz ur modem will go out of sync and u will end up in a heap of trouble but it shud work fine in heavy winds... best thing is to ask ur ISP and hav a chat with another person who uses the same ISP, discuss ur problem with him/her....

The company I work for also has bellsouth dsl and it also goes out all the time during storms and wind. We talked to the techs and they told us that the cables used are crap and cannot stand rain. When the wind blows it usually breaks the connection to the underground wires. Bellsouth just sucks at what they do, plain and simple!

Well just as a guess your phones also get noisy. Do you have static etc during the same issues? My guess is that you do.

This can be caused by a bad or loose connection anywhere along the phone line running to you. Tell your line supplier about the problem and have them run tests while it is happening. The issue may be at the "demarcation" point which is where they connect into your location. It can also occur within your location in which case you will need to correct the wiring.

Just a little corrosion on a terminal is all it takes.
