I wanted to simply ask 'why.' The question has to be at least 10 characters in length, and so I had to add the last two words.
I wanted to also leave this detail area blank, because the one word in the question is remarkably deep from a certain perspective. I wanted to and intended to ask the question of one word in a philosophical context.
So, pray tell me- Why?

Why is probably the fundamental question of modern philosophy, and sums it all up neatly in three characters, four if you include the question mark - which is really interesting in itself.
In the Greek system of philosophy, the number 3 features greatly, and any discussion of the nature of the universe involves the tri-part construction - that is, there are 3 elements from which all is formed. In the Greek philosophical model, the construction of the universe is known and why is a statement of being.
The modern Christian inspired system of philosophy, the tri-part system is replaced by a four part system consisting of earth, air, water and fire. Everything comes down to four basic elements now, and why? becomes a scientific question for which the answer is continually sought, i.e we've de-evolved and no longer know how the universe is constructed.
So why or why? - that's really the question...

too many people asked why not? why not ask why? because they are afraid and scared of whats uncertain and afraid of that they know of...
what for? depends on the situation... sometime because god do as he pleases.. and we are just a slave working for Him...
