Hi there Sweetie.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am so happy for you. You have SO much to look forward to and SO many reasons to be happy! I truly envy you, whenever I see a pregnant woman I always wish it was me. Unfortunately by baby days are over but I still get the fun of answering questions for young mothers like you!
I did want to say how sorry I am that someone felt it was necessary to use this opportunity to try to take some of the joy away from you by giving you such an ugly, hateful answer. It was not even true, just a pathetic attempt to "gross you out". It was gross but you just have to find it in your heart to feel sorry for someone that is that disgusting, he or she is just trying to hurt your feelings and they must be very envious of you too. Ignore them!
Back to what I wanted to say! It is highly unlikely that you could feel the baby before you even knew you were pregnant! With the new tests that are available, women can find out that they are pregnant so soon that your baby is about the size of a grain of rice! I don't think any of us are so sensitive that we could feel something that tiny!! Truly it is more like between 16 and 20 weeks, when the baby is a bit bigger, that you will feel it move!
Long before you can feel the baby move tho it has all its tiny little organs and they are all working by about the 8th or 9th week! By then the baby has tiny little fingers and toes and is moving, kicking and even sucking its thumb.....yet the baby is only about the size of a thumb! What a miracle you are part of! It is such an amazing time in your life! Be sure you go to one of the wonderful websites that will help you track the development of your baby. You can enter in your LMP and it will tell you all the wonderful things that are happening at each stage of your baby's development! My favorite one is http://www.babycenter.com There is a ton of wonderful information on there. Another one that I really like is called "Pregnancy Weekly" and every week they will email you an update telling you what your baby is doing that very week!
You have so many exciting things to look forward to! Your first Ultra Sound, picking out a name, the first time you do feel your baby move....so much to be happy about!
Most of all, enjoy your pregnancy! Believe me before it is over you will feel like you have been pregnant all your life, but do remember that it is a relatively short time in the life of your child. All his or her life you will look back on this time and remember the time when they were growing inside of you. You will remember the time when you could keep them safe from all the bad things in the world. There will be many times when you will wish that you could still keep them that safe. Believe me, my children are all grown except for one and I know how you will feel. Cherish this time, take good care of yourself! Get plenty of rest and eat lots of GOOD food! Eat what is good for you and your baby! Take your prenatal vitamins, stay away from anyone who is smoking and make sure you get plenty of Folic Acid ( it should be in your prenatals but check). Keep all your doctors appointments and just take good care of yourself!
Take care honey and have fun!
Love and Blessings

I felt the baby move in both pregnancy's around the 18-19 week mark. I knew I was pregnant, because the bottom part of my stomach was starting to harden some and I also got a really bad sinus infection (which I never got). I found out at 6 weeks with the first one and 4 weeks with the second one.

With my second child yes. I was on the pill called mirelle and I was bleeding every two weeks for 7 - 9 days straight. So of course I go off it thinking this isn't right. When I was about 6 weeks (I think) I felt my baby move. It felt exactly the same as when your'e around 4 months when everyone says you should be able to feel the baby and beleive me she did not stop moving!!!!
I had a c/section with her and even while I was on the operating table I could feel her move. She was very busy kicking and punching me from the inside esp the ribs.
My first child, a boy was so lazy I used to get worried if he's still alive!!!
My kids are just under 13 months apart.
Congratulations on your baby I know you going to enjoy being a mother and good luck!

I didn't feel my baby move before i knew i was pregnant. I was a month preggers when i found out so would of been highly unlikely to feel baby move then.
I'm just nearly 6 months now and started to feel baby move about a month ago. Such a remarkeable thing to experience :)
I know a couple of people who have had bleeding throughout there pregnancies but not actual periods although it does happen.

No... you may have felt the effects of internal organs responding to hormones, but you most likely didn't feel the baby move.
I'm glad that you consider your pregnancy a "baby" even before you knew you were pregnant. Your microscopic baby had all the DNA it needed to be a fully developed newborn.
How awesome you must feel to think of your baby developing! Keep up the positive thoughts and feelings... do you know that serene thoughts while pregnant, releases serotonin, which gives your baby pleasure too? Awesome!

If you have your period, but suspect you`re pregnant, self test or consult Obstetrician with rise of HCG from urine, from your blood exam, ultrasounds, signs & symptoms like: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, food pickiness, stomach bloatedness/fullness, breast/lower abd enlargement or adding weights to whole body, whole body soreness, laziness, etc.
Baby movements happen when all appendages fully develop. Movements may be felt 4-7 months.

I felt a tugging movement but the midwife told me it was my uterus stretching - I very much doubt you would feel the baby as it will be the size of an apple seed at the moment!
