John Eric Bartholomew who changed his name too Eric Morecambe, Was born-14th may 1926 at 42,Buxton street Morecambe at a neighbours house, the Bartholomews actually lived at number 48, Buxton street La4, look this up on google earth, and you will be able to see an aerial view.

Born John Eric Bartholomew in 1926, he changed his name to Eric Morecambe when he began his comedy career, inspired by his hero George Formby.
He met Ernie Wise in 1939 and the two later formed a double act which became the UK public's favourite.
Their 1977 Christmas Show set a record when it was viewed by 28m people.

As to whether or not Buxton Road still exists or has been renamed in the intervening years or if No42 still stands, I couldn't tell you.
