In the first call, he asked her to stay with the children since it was an emergency. This is why she took the children. In the second call, he told her his sister was flying in to stay with the children and she thanked him since she would be able to attend the wedding.

it`s the same phone call.
the differnce is that the story in morroco happens first and then the trip to mexico.
it`s just mixed up and you couldn`t connect the entire plot.

It was the same phone call, from different perspectives. The first was from hers. and the second from his.

The sequence was purposly incorrect, the phone when he was in the hospital was before she went to Mexico for her son's wedding........she was deported back to Mexico later.

she was deported back to mexico because she didnt have her papers and she took brad pitt children to mexico without his permission and papers.
