i believe so. i live in a high crime area and these kids' parents are into drug dealing and violence so the kids learn that stuff at an early age and have no money so they do what they learn to get it. i have seen a child no oldere than 12 carring a gun down the sidewalk. some of those little basterds are str8 up heathens.

I've read a Hercule Poirot story written by Agatha Christie in 1933, in which one of the characters complains that youths are not a diesciplined as the used to be. This probably reflects the view of real adults 70 years ago. To me this means all generations think the same, which means it is an irrational feeling caused the evolution of the society which creates a misunderstood generation conflict. However, it does seem that there are specific behaviours that can be resonably discribed as bad, and can be statistically proven to be increasing, such as the use of weapons, and maybe other things.

YES! Children are left to raise themselves. Parents are not as involved as they use to be. I have always said it is easier to let your children run wild than to actually discipline them and teach them proper morals. It use to be a teacher could spank a child and now they have little discipline in school. A few days off for suspension. That is just what they were looking for. Children are handed every luxury. I have never seen so many kids with $250 gadgets. I remember when I wanted a walkman and worked all summer to save up for it. Parents do not want their children to "suffer" the way they did. Those struggles are what build character. Every thing a child does wrong is justified with a disease now a days. All this does is excuse the behavior. My oldest was put on riddlin and I had more problems after that. After 2 years I took her off of it and said no more excuses and really cracked down on her and tried various behavior modifications including spankings. I took away things that she really held dear but did not realize it. Electronics are disposable to teens. Try taking away their bedroom door for one month. Try removing everything from their bedroom except their mattress and 5 outfits of clothes. These are things they can not sneak around and get somewhere else. Just let me catch one of mine hanging around a street corner after dark , with drugs, drinking or the police showing up at my house one time. I know experimentation is natural but let me catch this stuff once and I guarantee they will think twice before doing it again.

Yes and it all started when the government took control of the kids away from the parents... Parents are afraid of social service involvement for disciplinary practices. SS even has guidelines as to how long a parent can make the kid stand in the corner for "time out". Most kids need good old fashioned spankings.

This is an eternal constant problem between generations!
Things change and people grow.
We don't think and act the same way when we are 15 as when we are 25.
Above all, when we are 25 we forget how we were!!
This make it difficult to understand the youth.

They are getting more responsible, the reason is that information is more widely available now and they learn from young age about all the dangers that are out there. There are so many things I was unaware of simple because there were no sources of information.
The availability of information is a danger in itself. Today's children are aware that there are things out there that they shouldn't know about (yet). Can you imagine, they know they have the responsibility to differentiate what type of information they should stay away from and what type of information might be beneficial to them. By information I mean words, imagines, videos.

Yes, girls are becoming more promiscuous..boys are becoming more rowdy. Teen pregnancy, violent behavior, guys have fighting matches in their own backyards. I think because of the baby boomers. Parents are always working and they don't have time to pay attention to their children.
