I'm told the cost is $2,000 and would extend the warranty to 100,000 miles. Not sure if I should gamble and save the money hoping there will be no mechanical issues.

Honestly I woudlnt buy a Jag with that many miles. I know two people with jags and they spend about half the year in the shop every year....It takes forever to get parts and you can only get it fixed at a Jag dealer which cost a lot of $$$. Only buy the jag if you can afford all the repair bills. If you get it I would definatley get the warranty...you will have 15k miles left which is a years worth of driving....Its only $2k. if you have to put in in the shop just once it will be atleast $2k so its worth it in the long run.

if it costs that much it's because it's an expensive car to own. I'd find something else. I spent 1500 on a new chevy 6 year bumper to bumper.

That's only 15k miles; not much. If the jag is that iffy, you should scratch it.
