I recently began charting my BBT. My cycles have never been regular, so I was surprised when last month I had a "textbook" chart. The temp pattern was what you would expect it to be, with a clear OD and CM to match. It was a 26-day cycle, with O on Day 12.

Fast forward to this month. My temps don't look anything like before. In fact, Fertility Friend can't find a date for ovulation, and I am on Cycle Date 18. My cervical fluid was eggwhite a week ago (CD10).

So here's my question: Has anyone ever had a "perfect" cycle, only for the next one to be completely undiscernable? I'm honestly not sure I've ovulated at all this time. My cycles are always short, so I'm running pretty close to time for my period. I was under the assumption that if you have irregular cycles, they are usually consistent. Does alternating normal and regular cycles sound strange?

BTW, chances of me being pregnant are nil. We used protection before fertile window and I was out of town when I had EWCM.

I understand where you are coming from. I tried to conceive a child with my husband for 3 years before I learned how to chart my cycle the right way. (Now I have a beautiful one year old son.)
Yes, it is possible for something to disturb your cycle one month, and then the next month be "regular" again.
Check out this book called Take Charge of Your Fertility...whether you want a baby or not, it will tell you how to chart, and explain your cycle so you can understand what is going on. Here is the web site....

it is possible to have an irregular cycle one month and then a regular cycle perodically. women with irregular cycles ovulate some months and then may not ovulate other months. that is one reason it is so hard to get pregnant, b/c ovulation is so unpredictable. you shld see the doc to see why your cycles are irregular.

best of luck!

its rather customary i might put in a 28 day cycle which might make ur ovulation day 14 days after the 1st day of ur era Ex. if the 1st day of ur cycle became April 14 then ur ovulation day could be April 28 which could be ur maximum fertile day yet u might desire to develop ur probabilities of being pregnant via having intercourse 3-4 days in the previous which could have been April 25,26,27 and a million day after April 29) i'm hoping this helped u and stable success
