Yes traditional marriage is legalised prostitution to me. However it is up to the individual on their conditional thinking i.e. some women search & desire a traditional marriage others don't. (I.e. a fat old lesbo might think a beautiful woman is playing the man's wishes while a beautiful woman may think they are sexually empowered.) But I also think being in the modern age people shouldn't be too head up about sex & love & it is whether the individual couple is happy. That is all that matters. Personally if I was a woman I would sell my body 'Big time' for a few £000's a night do that 4 a few yrs then retire rather than have a traditional marriage.

I have found that being nice to people in positions to be able to give you something generally has positive results.

For example, when I'm on the phone to my cable tv provider complaining about the constant problems with service dropouts, they often give me discounts or free extras even though they're not legally obliged by the contract to do so. Because the customer service person almost certainly gets a load of crap from angry people every day, I try to sympathise with them and this often gets them in the right mood when I ask if there's anything they can do (although on some occasions they've just offered without me asking).

And just recently I ordered a 2for1 t-shirt offer for my favourite rock band. The offer said they would choose the free one, but on my order gave them 2 options that I would prefer if it was at all possible for them to oblige. Lo and behold, today I got all 3 in the post ! For the price of 1 ! Knockout !!!!

So I guess the story is, be nice to the people who can hand the stuff out, and in general always remember that the person you're shouting at on the phone might not be the one responsible for the problem. Politeness costs nothing.

I think most people above have got the wrong idea about this question. There is no such thing as a free anything. Everything has a price. Be it time spent, working, waiting, thinking, giving, helping or even paying. Everything must be balanced in some way.

Not everything has a mercenary motive but most have. I would have said that free promotional gifts were entirely legal but their is a reason for them. I sometimes give an unexpired car parking ticket to a person arriving as I leave but you would probably say this is not legal. Does getting something only refer to things in kind. What about free advice, words of comfort,a kind friendly smile or someone holding a door open for you? These are all legal and you could say you are getting something for nothing. Do the same in reverse.

I would say there are plenty things that are free. But they are all either bad experience (like a spit in the face) or a bad quality (like that newspaper mentioned above or that "free lunch" somewhere), or even both. So you wouldn't want them any way. Talking of "the most important things in life that are free", they will cost you far more than anything else - they'll cost your heart and energy and peace of mind. But you'll be ready to pay any time.

--MOST LIKELY this is not the type of answer you might want , but I often think on the premise "the best things in life are free"

--When you get up after a long unrestful sleep, and the room is stuffy--I always found the NO PRICE experience of just stepping out in the outdoors --beautifully exhilarating and JUST BREATHE that crisp air--especially so after a nice snow fall.

--But most importantly is truth, that has been truth from the beginning of our creation:

(Isaiah 55:1-3) “55 Hey there, all YOU thirsty ones! Come to the water. And the ones that have no money! Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk even without money and without price. 2 Why do YOU people keep paying out money for what is not bread, and why is YOUR toil for what results in no satisfaction? Listen intently to me, and eat what is good, and let YOUR soul find its exquisite delight in fatness itself. 3 Incline YOUR ear and come to me. Listen, and YOUR soul will keep alive, and I shall readily conclude with YOU people an indefinitely lasting covenant respecting the loving-kindnesses to David that are faithful.. . .”

--Interestingly, is that Isaiah the biographer here is not talking about religion but pure truth about God and his purposes.
--Isn't it true that the so-called "religious truths" have a price on them and the religious leaders get fat?-THIS IS NOT THE TRUTH FROM GOD--that one is not supposed to pay for!

--Peter clearly expresses that truth, to center around the Messiah Christ and his free & untainted truths about his God & Father:

(1 Peter 2:1-3) “. . .put away all badness and all deceitfulness and hypocrisy and envies and all sorts of backbiting, 2 [and,] as newborn infants, form a longing for the unadulterated milk belonging to the word, that through it YOU may grow to salvation, 3 provided YOU have tasted that the Lord is kind. 4.Coming to him as to a living stone, rejected, it is true, by men, but chosen, precious, with God,.5....... to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."

--What Christ taught & did was truly refreshing and free to all he came in contact with---Thus the Bibles truths and what Isaiah said about obtaining them "buy and eat EVEN WITHOUT MONEY....WITHOUT A PRICE"--Is one of the most exhilarating experiences because indeed it is a personal one between us and God.

--Just some food for thought!

You have nothing to lose. You have nothing to gain. You are already complete, right now. You are free. And you are fed. Don't worry about the cost of lunch.
