This is a good question. Why would you want to install Win98?

Of course, you can install Win 98, but the problem is that you'll lose your previous installation of XP.
And one more issue is that Win 98 does not support NTFS file system, but XP supports both FAT & NTFS file systems.
So you must install your O.S.'s on two different drives.

One thing you can do is that
1) Install Win 98 on different drive.
2) After 98 installation install XP on previous XP drive.
3) During installation it will search for the previous operating systems.
4) Choose XP and go for repair.

By doing so you'll not loose any of your previous data...

I wouldn't install 98SE...it is a OS that has reached it's life...Microsoft isn't even offering any updates anymore...and it is full of problems and security holes! If anything...go linux!
