yeah, it much better for you than tap water. Less chemicals in it.

IGNORE - all those who say it's bad for you or only after treatment. It must be drunk straight away though, otherwise bacterial life will slowly start to grow in it, this is stuff that falls into it from the air. If you bottle it, it will keep longer in a cool place.

You can drink ANY quantity of it, it is only very middle acid, even in areas with bad acid rain the PH is normally now lower than 5 or 6, compared to whats in your stomach positively harmless.

One benefit of tap water is the added flouride though, which is generally accepted as improve dental hygiene, as it kills bacteria in your mouth.

Rain water does not have acid in it !! It absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in very small amount, and through a process become as very mild or weak carbonic acid, because of its willingness to give up its hydrogen. Carbon dioxide reacts with water to form carbonic acid Carbonic acid then dissociates to give the hydrogen ion (H+) and the hydrogen carbonate ion (HCO3-) (The ability of H2CO3 to deliver H+ is what classifies this molecule as an acid, thus lowering the pH of a solution, to between 5 or 6 in the case of acid rain.

Yes rain water is pretty clean except from some acids that have dissolved in it from the atmosphere. It also depends on how the rainwater was collected and what it might have come into contact on landing

Normally you could drink rainwater without becoming ill.
However, rainwater contains pollutants, soil, plant parts,
insect parts, bacteria, algae, and sometimes radioactive
materials that the rain/snow has washed out of the air.
If filtered with one of the filtering systems that you
can buy in stores nowadays, and then boiled, you could
probably drink the water safely. However, it is safer yet
to get your water from municipal water supplies or from wells
that are frequently tested.

Certainly. There are even places that bottle it. It is better than water that runs thru 8-10 sewer systems before it get to your water intake.

I wouldn't until it was boiled. The air that the rain travels through is contaminated.
