It isn't very original, but I might buy her a pretty journal. They range in price and are available in paper or leather. I like one with a pocket where I can slip addresses, a feather, a flower, etc. A nice address book is another choice. Mine somehow always gets jumbled and people change cell phones like they change clothes these days. Pretty stationery? A great CD in a pretty box? I like this one: An empty popcorn box with two tickets for the movies inside. Finally, a gift certificate for a manicure somewhere nice. Hope these suggestions help. One more: A pair of really funny, ridiculously funny, bedroom slippers....big fluffy rabbits, who knows? Happy shopping

i read bobbys answers and agree with them but the 1 thing that sprung to mind was the cinema tickets thing, funky idea, for many, but she may misconstrue this as an offer of a date!! stick to something "safe" Since its her 50th, family or friends are bound to make a big deal and there will be photographs, how about an especially nice photo frame to put a memento of her big day in, good luck

Take her out for a burger for lunch. Or sit with her at Satrbucks and buy her a speciality coffee.
