There are a lot of people very upset with Sprint. You are not alone.

There is a very interesting article about all the problems people have been having with sprint over on cnet.com

The article also tells some great tips and methods for dealing with sprint which you may find very useful.

None of the cell phone companies and systems are perfect though. I have yet to find one that someone doesn't have complaints about and I think it will not be long before we start to see them losing market share to VOIP portable phones.

My girlfriend has verizon and it drops calls even with 3 bars out of 5 showing. Verizon is also very difficult to deal with if you have a customer service complaint.

You should see all the complaints against them in areas where they control the cable tv rights. They are just another huge company with a bad attitude.

NO you are not the only one. I have a nextel phone and recently moved. the coverage area is supposed to be good in my area but that is the furthest thing from the truth. a semi truck can go by my house and i can drop a call or the wind will blow the wrong way. i emailed customer service and they told me to call them the next time i have an issue with my phone and they will send a tech out to check the problem. What are they gonna do, put a cell tower in my back yard? you really have to question their answers. they won't even let me out of my contract that i only have 2 months on. i cant wait till my contract is up so i can switch verizon!!!

Yes, I had that problem. I couldn't use my phone in the city I lived in. Verizon led me to their service. I called up Sprint to ask when my contract was due (never a good idea) and they offered to give me a 200 dollar phone for free. Unfortunately, I had to tell the girl that the phone would be an overpriced paper weight, since I could never get a signal. Verizon was the best choice I made.

Most all services have 'dead spots'..However, Sprint/Nextel is the worst!!!! I swithched to Verizon, and it works 99% of the time anywhere! Businesses like Nextel with the speakerphone, but out of the City, forget it.. Their coverage is terrible.. Look at their coverage maps. They need many more cell sites up and running. Not just in the big Cities.
