Had a friend that bleed each month for the first 5 months of her pregnancy. Not common, but not unusal. She actually didn't find out she was pregnant until about 12 weeks. He dr. told her that some women can and do have a lighter period during early pregnancy. He kept a close watch of her until she was about 28 weeks just for precausion.
If you are unsure that you are pregnant, your physician can do a blood test that is 100% accurate as early ad 4 days past conception.

I'm sure there are women out there who have still had their period when pregnant. It certainly happens, but it is not the norm!!
For hundreds of years, the only way that women knew they were pregnant was if they missed a few periods. The reason that this is, is because it's the most consistent and reliable sign that a woman is pregnant.
By asking 'who had periods' when pregnant, you are going to get a distorted view of how common it is because people who did will answer and people who didn't will ignore the question. Maybe you should ask 'whose periods stopped when they got pregnant'!!

My friend continued having periods until the fourth month of her pregnancy - she didnt have a clue she was pregnant! Some people HCG levels take longer to show up on pregnancy tests. Implantation bleeding can cause women to think they have had a period when in fact its the egg attaching itself to the uterus wall. The period will be much lighter than normal in this case. Also I have heard cases of women having periods all the way through right up until birth!!

It happened to my auntie she knew she was pregnant but everything was coming back negative until at 5 months pregnant she demanded a scan and hold and behold she was 5 and half months pregnant but that was 10 years ago and she had periods till she was 8 months pregnant. She as also just had her second child and had periods till she was 4 months pregnant, hope this helps.

Yes, it is common. I experienced it. The first two months of my pregnancy, I had my period. Well, obviously, it would not be detected because you would not think you were pregnant so therefore would not opt to check it out. If at any time you have unprotected sex, I would protect my interests.

My close friend was pregnant with twins and she didn't know her entire 1st trimester b/c she had her period the entire time, up until she gave birth.
When she was pregnant again, she again had her period up to the babies birth. Her babies came out fine and they are perfectly healthy.
