why is it really weird when you see a teacher outside of school?

Because it's someone that you look up to, for mentoring, and they are probably paying you no mind outside of the classroom. Or it could also be that your intuition is rejecting change, since you are so used to seeing that teacher in the same place all the time.

It seems weird but you're just registering the fact you are seeing them outside of a setting you are used to.

weird??let's be serious..everyone sees teachers outside of school and it's not weird

It is weird because in school the hold a position of power and authority but in society they are just another person.
