Can anyone help?

Just a few days ago I attempted to print a word document and a message came up saying:
"System Error..... The document cannot be printed due to a system error.
Try printing again. If unsuccessful, restart Windows and try printing again."
I have tried printing numerous times, tried restarting the computer, un-installed the software and drivers and re-installed them a number of times and also tried a system restore on my computer but nothing helps.
The scanning part of the printer has no problems and the printer IS recognised by my system etc....
Can anyone help. Thanks

Just tried Mike C's answer (below) but there is only 1 printer installed and the problem still exists. Couldn't print a test page that way either :(

Just resolved the issue. For anyone out there with this problem. it is a DEP (Data exercussion protection) issue. Seems my system just added the printer to a list that blocks it. To solve the problem change the settings for DEP and ADD the printers .exe file to the list that IS allowed.. that solved the problem.

I had this problem on a customers machine yesterday and it was simply that there were 2 installations of the printer. Go to Control panel/printers and other hardware if you see 2 copies of your printer then right click each one, click properties and print a test page, one of them will work and the other wont. Now you know which one to delete and your problem will be solved.
