They say that you become a top contributor by having quality answers in a particular subject, but who votes or decides on that?

When you ask a question...such as you have just done...you get to vote on the best answer. So basically, the questioner decides the best answer.

When the "answerer" gets a certain amount of 'best answer' in one particular forum they get top contributer for that forum.

:)

:You will vote for the best answerer of your question. Can go through all the answers and pick one to be the best. That answerer chosen will then receive 10 points. Whoever gets the most points in a special category gets the label of top contributor. So ya need to answer alot of questions as best as you can. Yahoo gives the top contributor label. Just as you go from level 1 to level 2. You also can give a thumbs up or down below each answer.

that's extremely real... we are no longer always correct... except for me, for sure! HAHAHAHA!!! I actually have a t-blouse with the retaining, "i'm no longer opinionated, i'm basically always correct!!" i love it! As for your question, in spite of the undeniable fact that, accurate individuals benefit that status because they're "more beneficial oftentimes then no longer" maximum superb, or a minimum of their solutions are favored, loved, attractive to the questioner... or the voters. As for answer to my personal questions, if I see a accurate Contributor has provided an answer (particularly in the category i'm asking the question in) I DO have a tendency to weigh that answer more beneficial because they could have a more beneficial useful information than the others... that's how they earned the accurate Contributor nomenclature. that's amazingly such as the time i replaced into on Jury duty. the potential jurors were requested by ability of the single lawyer even if or not they could weigh the testimony of a police officer more beneficial heavily than that of the different witness... nicely... i'd have had to respond to that query as sure. A police officer is a experienced observer, compared to some thing else human beings unfavourable slobs. similar with any "specialist" witness... their testimony may be weighted more beneficial because of their know-how. as a outcome that's with a accurate Contributor. they could have a particular knowlege or know-how, or only a particular knack for answering the questions and their solutions will obviously be chosen as best answer. that's far round for an answer, isn't it? Oh nicely..... Have a polite day.

I would assume it has something to do with the quantity and quality of the answers given in a particular category and the votes are made by the original person asking the question.

everyone who is on here if it goes to vote
when you ask a question you get to pick your own best answer
whoever get the most votes if it goes to voting get the best answer for a particular question , so that doesn't always mean it's the best answer or the right answer just who everyone else thinks is the best
you get top contributor by getting picked best answer the most in a particular category, so that doesn't always mean that persons answers are the best just that others think they are!
anyone(once you reach a certain level) can vote what they think is best answer if a question goes into voting, a question goes into voting when someone asks a question and then doesn't pick best answer in a timely manner.
