my husband soaked his closed in diesel fuel.
What is the best way to get them clean and this awful smell out without ruining my washingmashine?

Hi...my hubby is a diesel mechanic so I deal with his dirty stinky clothes everyday. I wash his clothes in a pine sol in the wash machine. and then I run them through an extra rinse cycle with fabreeze in it. this seems to work for most of his clothes...then their are the few that "mysteriously" disappear if they are really stained and stinky...lol "the wash machine monster ate them"...LOL (I threw them out without him knowing about it)

Rinse them in the tub, (or hose them down outside if you like), then soak them for a few hours in baking soda and water. That should get some of the fuel out, and neutralize most of the odor of what's left. Then you can wash them (by hand or in the washing machine) w/a little extra detergent, and more baking soda. That should do the trick. Good luck!!

You are very clever in the code language and euphemisms that you use in asking a very pertinent underlying question.

I think that it is good to "clean out" your soul and tell your husband the truth about your gambling addiction.
