Ah, a politicians worse nightmare, a voter who actually considers the issues.
I always consider each issue before deciding who I am going to vote for, regardless of my registered voters status...
Terrible isn't it?

Thank you, of course you know that this question will not be the big hit.
Since Americans have become so busy with their own affairs, they do not have time, or won't take the time to research the candidates. This means that what ever new media they listen to, they take it as the truth. This is a fake as the tear on Ronald Reagan's cheek displayed on the cover of Time Magazine.
The News focuses on the people on the far right and left. However the large percentage of Americans in the middle are the ones that do not go out and vote, because they feel that their vote won't count.
We need more people like you to go out and vote for who you think is the best person and not who the media is telling you who is best.

I will never vote for a Democrat because I don't agree with them on almost every issue. So, IMO, the Republican would always be the better candidate. And if I don't like the Republican, then I would still not vote for a Dem. but a Libertarian.

I agree with you 100%. I have voted for candidates of both parties at all levels. The parties are so centrist these days that there isn't much difference anyway. Each party has their base to which they must pander and that is always a factor in considering which person receives my vote. There is not much difference between the parties and that leaves us to voting based on one or two issues and personality.

Finally! Some people with intelligence and the gumption to admit they're not party hardliners! What a breath of fresh air. If we all voted our conscience and voted for the best candidate(s) regardless of party, I think this country would be a better place. And consequently, the world.
Good on ya' for asking the question! And I'm with all the people who answered above me.

Agreed. Although I DO tend to vote mostly for one party, I do also try to chose the best person. I've been supporting a state senator who is not of that party. He's been a great representative for us and I've been a supporter of his for 12+ years now.

Your right. While I support the Democratic party & agree with their stance more, I have to admit I didn't trust John Kerry. Of course now that Hilary & Obama are coming up, looks like us "left wing-ists" got something to look forward to...

I've registered as independent, I generally don't vote far right or far left but sometimes the choice is sadly between a turd sandwich or a giant bag of douche.

A smart person should hear an issue completely before making up their mind...some people are more loyal than smart.
