No I would not consider a rape victim a virgin anymore because he or she has been exposed to something horrible. Virginity is more than something physical, its something psychological as well. Many technical virgins, arent really virgins if they have knowledge of some of the worst things society has to offer. A victim of rape is no longer in the dark about such things, and so is no longer a virgin both physically or psychologically.

difficult to say but i'd have to say no. of course a victim who is a virgin did not choose to discontinue the state of virginity and therefore should not hold themself accountable by any means for the loss of it (religiously or otherwise). no. because a virgin is someone who has not had sexual contact/intercourse/foreplay with another and has no experience in that area. it is unfathomably unfortunate and often infinately painful to have one's first sexual experience an unwilling one; nevertheless, that experience has been had. i must say, however, that if a virgin is a victim of a violent and forceful rape (like a one-time thing) there is one part of them that is still a virgin: their mind. and i'd value the mind over the body anyhow. the thing that is worse is to have one's mind raped by prolonged exposure to the victimiser. in those cases, the psychological damage is greater. history remains. forgetting is hard, it gets easier, but is never complete. if a victems choice was, let's say, to remain a virgin until marriage, then he or she should do so. the temptation to gain sexual experience after (given a period of time to come outta shock) can be great. this is because some want to try to erase that first unwilling experience from their minds with another sexual experience. this usually starts the pattern of promiscuity. others have the exact opposite reaction and want nothing to do with thier sexuality or anyone elses. some virgins (and even some non-virgins) who were raped do not even masturbate afterwards. (some compulsively masturbate.) i think that it is important for a virgin who was raped to still call themselves a virgin for the simple fact that one should not be seen by many as weak. if a victim cannot trust the person/people to be compassionate and to not take advantage of the vunerability nor to harshly judge the victim then they are not mature enough to understand the horrors nor do they deseve to be there to hear a testimony that can bring back such painful memories. in short: no. but that don't mean a thing. you gotta go on with life. is virginity important? yes, but is their life gone? no. i should know. 11 years of sexual abuse escalating through the years of my childhood until finally it became repeated rape. mind and body. was i ever a virgin? good question. but i value myself for more than just a shiny new vagina. the past can never change, but my mind can change, and it can only progress. and as for my soul/spirit/life-force/thingy: it goes unscathed, untoutched, and unbreakable by thise world and the people in it.

No, sadly. A rape "takes" a woman's virginity. When the time comes, she could still say it's her first time, willingly. Also, I consider rape as an act of violence, not a sex act.
And to the clueless person who said we need intact hymens - you're wrong! It can break without even having sex.

No, but that doesn't mean I'm making some type of value judgment on the person for not being a Virgin.

Physically no, we all know once a woman has had a penis in her vagina she is no logner a virgin... However, morally and psychologically I believe they are still virgins as that penetration was not wanted. I believe they are still virgin and clean. But it's not what I believe, I'm sure they feel so dirty and bad after that, they feel they are not anymore.

Yes and No. A virgin is a virgin until she has willingly experienced sex for the first time. Just because the heimen ( or whatever you call it) is broken doesn't make her less of a virgin. At least mentally and emotionally if not physically. That's just my opinion.

I f there was no penatration, if the rapist made the victim just give him oral sex. I was sexually abused, but there was never any penetration, so I was left a virgin thank goodness. It was all oral and touching and fingering never did he penetrate me with his manhood.

A man once told me that until a woman has 'climaxed,' to him, she is still a virgin.
Given the 'used' feelings that accompany rape, that tiny thought really helps heal the psyche whether it is physically true or not.
Live well~

A virgin is a female with her hymen in tact. The hymen is broken during intercourse. Sadly a rape victim would no longer be a virgin.
