My Becko eco care dishwasher seems to be making our main power box trip!!
The power tripped , its a safety mechanism , you know if a fuse goes etc then you reset it and deal with the issue.
we isolated the problem down to our dishwasher , we thought it was the socket it was plugged into, once we disconnected it the power was fine , so my other half plugged it in another socket using an extension , it worked for abou 3 minutes and then it tripped the power again theres no obvious problem with the dishwasher...any ideas....?
The fuse is fine im not aware of getting water in any of the switches or anything like that...
Any ideas woul dbe greatly appreciated
the model is Beko Eco Care D3422 FS

sorry perhaps i didnt explain too well, its making the main fuse box i think its called the main box that turns the power on /off to the whole house...where you would change fuses ..ie downstairs light water heater upstairs bedroom etc etc i thought it was just called a fuse box but it controls the power to the whole house, it wont allow the power to the whole house to be switched bk on the switch just keeps bouncing to off bu tdisconnect the dishwasher and all is fine..does that make it any clearer ....?

What is tripping? a MCB (Circuit breaker) What rating? .....or an RCD/RCCB (with a little 'Test' button)?? These devices respond to different types of fault, so I can't advise you without knowing which.

ADDED>> Only a bit clearer! It SEEMS like you have an RCD as a mainswitch, (not good practice) a 'Split' board is better. However if that IS the case, then you appear to have an earth leakage fault (Low insulation resistance) in the dishwasher, which is causing the RCD to trip, this is killing all the power to the other MCB's. The fault will be in one of the machines components and requires to be traced and replaced, to reduce the leakage to a safe level. You will need an appliance engineers services for this work. Best to contact Beko's own service dept.

Hi, I noticed this question a few days ago as I was having the same problem. My trip switch went about 20 minutes into the wash. After cleaning drains, checking all the ring main circuit and checking the outlet hose was not snagged I found something very strange. The back of my dishwasher is covered in a wax type material, very much like a sound deadening pad. This had become so hot it had melted and welded the plastic plug to the back of the machine. This was transferring heat into the plug and wires and as soon as I managed to prise it off and insulated a layer between the new plug and the back of the machine it has stopped the trip switch from tripping. Unusual cause of a problem and one that I am sure could be the cause of a number of online questions about the Beko dishwashers.

As the previous two answers state this tripping is caused by Earth Leakage.
If this leakage goes above 30mA it will trip.
There is obviously a component inside your dishwasher causing the leakage and it will not be obvious just by looking at the dishwasher.
You need an Engineer from the manufacturer.

You have an earth leakage problem with your dishwasher that's why the RCD is tripping. Not something easily fixed without some electrical knowledge. Get an electrician to come and have a look at it.

This happened to me with a washing machine. It turned out to be that something in the trip unit that older machines can't cope with. I would try the Beko web site and ask for technical help.
