x = (Σfx)/(Σf)
= A + (Σfd)/(Σf)

where Σ = sum
x = mid value of the class interval
f = frequency of the interval
A = assumed mean
d = deviation from A

Work out the middle of each group multiplied by the frequency of that group. Add all of these and then divide by the total of the frequencies.

the best way 2 use is direct method ,first multiply frequency by xi then add it up divide it by sum of frequency

mean=Zigma fixi/sum of fi
